Macha's Landing in the Headland Haven

Returning from the scene of treachery on the Isle of Skye, Queen Macha's majestic vessel reaches a secluded cove at the foot of the Great Headland, where her royal retinue comes ashore and the queen rides out onto the shimmering shore. An uncanny maiden gazes at Macha's arriving retinue from the surrounding heights. Her path is destined to intertwine with Macha's as the fate of Dál Riata unfolds.

The cove at the foot of the Great Headland is a liminal place where ancient rocks and mystic waters meet. Shadows stir and watch their mortal folk from the heights of the Highlands and the depths of the sea.

As the queen's retinue rides towards the fortress, the maiden's figure stands no more, yet uncanny gazes follow them along the liminal path. Great beasts shift through the dark, tangled woods, and a visage wearing a dun-coloured shawl may be seen, although none knows whether she is solely a mirror of their folk's memory.

Along the mysterious shoreline at the foot of the Great Headland, salt-laced waters lap against the rocks, sometimes accompanied by mysterious voices of women yearning for companions on both land and sea, and the baleful presence of men born with the hues of dark blue sea.
